Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Photon Science, SLAC
I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Engineering Physics at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2012 and 2014, respectively. I accomplished the Ph.D. at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, France) and the Université Grenoble Alpes (France) in December 2017. During the Ph.D., I employed the resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) technique to study the electronic and magnetic properties of iridium-based spin-orbit induced correlated electron systems. Between 2017 and 2019, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, where I investigated the lattice excitations of cuprates and their coupling to electrons by means of high-resolution RIXS. I joined the Shen group in July 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher. My current research topic focuses on the structural, magnetic and electronic dynamics of strongly correlated electron systems, such as manganites and cuprates. To study the low-energy excitations of these materials, I use a set of synchrotron- and x-ray free electron laser-based spectroscopic techniques.
