Electronic liquid crystals made of quasi-one-dimensional stripes have been proposed as a viable route to high-temperature superconductivity. Moiré semiconductors provide a platform to test this idea. In this talk, I will discuss the observation of electronic liquid crystals in these materials and the emergence of superconductivity achieved by suppressing stripe ordering via gate control.  Insights from thermoelectric studies will also be discussed.
