Our friend, Professor Shoucheng Zhang, passed away on December 1, 2018. This was a great loss for the entire physics community.
To honor Shoucheng and to celebrate his remarkable science and life, we are organizing a Memorial Workshop from May 2-4, 2019. The location of the workshop is Bechtel Conference Center at Encina Hall, Stanford University. (616 Serra Mall, Stanford, CA 94305)
Shoucheng has influenced many of us deeply with his great enthusiasm and unique talent for discovering the beauty and simplicity in physics. We feel that the best way to remember him is to dedicate to him a lively workshop with exciting lectures and a lot of fruitful discussion.
As a celebration of Shoucheng's life, the Physics Department of Stanford University and the Zhang family are organizing a memorial service on May 1st, 2019 at 3:30pm at the Stanford Memorial Church. You are welcome to attend. More information about the memorial service and Shoucheng can be found on the memorial website.
On the workshop, we have prepared a small exhibition on Shoucheng's scientific life, consisting of 12 posters. The content of this exhibition, with revisions, will appear in the Memorial Volume for Shoucheng Zhang, which will be published by the World Scientific Publishing Company. A copy of the posters are attached below.
